J AND K WEB COLLECTIVE (PTY) LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates Quick File Manager (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles file access, local indexing, ads, and in-app purchases.
1. Core privacy position
Quick File Manager is designed to work primarily on your device.
We do not run user file-browsing or search-index servers for the core app experience.
2. Information the App may process on-device
The App may access or process the following information on your device:
- File and folder names
- File paths and directory structure
- File sizes and modified dates
- Installed package names when Android/data package visibility fallback is needed
- Local search index metadata stored on your device
- Local settings such as theme choice and Pro entitlement cache
3. Android storage access
On supported Android versions, the App may request broad file access so it can browse shared storage and analyze storage usage.
If Android blocks direct access to restricted areas such as Android/data descendants, the App shows an installed-package fallback instead of fabricating inaccessible contents.
4. Search indexing
The App combines Android MediaStore results with a compact local SQLite metadata index stored on your device.
This local index is used to speed up file search and improve coverage for accessible files that may not appear reliably in MediaStore.
5. Advertising
The free version of the App may display Google AdMob banner ads.
Google AdMob may process device and advertising-related data in accordance with Google’s own privacy policies.
6. In-app purchases
If you buy Quick File Manager Pro, Google Play Billing processes the purchase and may handle transaction metadata needed for verification and restoration.
We cache entitlement state locally on your device for continuity, but Google Play remains the system of record for billing.
7. Data retention
Local search index data, cached entitlement state, and app preferences remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the App.
8. Your choices
You can:
- Deny or revoke file access permissions
- Rebuild or clear the local search index
- Uninstall the App or clear app data through Android settings
- Manage ad preferences and Google Play purchase settings through your Google account
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the core app flow.
